Each of the Tri Cities hosted a candlelight vigil for peace this Sunday, March 16th as President Bush made an ominous announcement that seems to suggest the bombing of Iraq will start very soon. In Saginaw, the vigil was held at Jefferson Avenue United Methodist Church and attended by what seemed like 80 people.

In addition to thinking about and praying for the people of Iraq, we said a prayer for Rachel Corrie, the Olympia, Washington woman who was run over and killed by an Israeli bulldozer today, as well as her family, fellow International Solidarity Movement peacekeepers, and the people of Palestine.

These vigils were done in coordination with thousands of communities across the world.

Many thanks to those who organized the vigils in our Tri Cities.
